Dr. Mahmoud Al -Jarf … The first non -American figure crowned the Winberger Award from the American College of Doctors

Dr. Mahmoud Al -Jarf, Director of the Stem Cell Program and Cellular Treatment for Adults at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh, won the (Stephen Weinberger) Prize for leadership and executives from the American College of Doctors (ACP), which is the largest medical organization in the United States, during its annual meeting in New Orleans. What makes him the first non -American figure to have this high honor. During the ceremony, the college highlighted the role of Dr. Al -Jarf in developing the stem cell transplant program in the specialty, to become one of the largest and most advanced programs in the world, which contributed to a positive impact on the results of patients and research in this field. In addition to his work in the hospital, Dr. Al -Jarf is currently the head of the global network for bone marrow transplantation, and the scientific director of the Blood A transplant and marrow group in the eastern Mediterranean region.

In addition to his clinical contributions, Dr. Al -Jarf has a wide estimate of his scientific research. He held the position of editor -in -chief of Saudi medicine annuals and a number of magazines specialized in hematology, and he is currently holding the position of member of the International Consultative Council for The Lancet magazine for hematology. It has published nearly 500 scientific contributions to highly influential magazines. He also worked as an editor of five books, focusing mainly on caring for cancer patients and stem cell transplantation.

Dr. Al -Jarf won many international awards, including the Florence Carter Award for Lacks Research from the Education and Research Foundation of the American Medical Society (AMA), the distinguished service award from the Center for Blood and Bone Armal Research (CIBMTR), the life achievement award from the Hussein Cancer Foundation in Jordan, the life achievement award from the Research, Development and Innovation Authority in the Kingdom.

It is noteworthy that King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center was classified as the first in the Middle East, Africa and 15 globally, for the third year in a row, in the list of the best 250 academic health care institutions around the world, and the highest valuable health brand in the Kingdom and the Middle East, according to the Finance Brand for 2025, and also included in the list of the best smart hospitals in the world for the year 2025 by the magazine Newsweek.
