The UAE is a strategic partner and we look forward to deepening cooperation in the fields of energy and artificial intelligence

Chris Wright, USA Minister of Energy, stressed that the UAE is a major strategic partner for the United States in the fields of energy, artificial intelligence and advanced technology, noting that bilateral relations are witnessing an accelerated growth in the volume of investments and joint cooperation.
In response to a question to the Emirates News Agency, “WAM”, during a press interview held today at the headquarters of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company “ADNOC”, he is happy to visit “ADNOC”, praising the great technical progress and strong institutional culture enjoyed by the energy sector in the country, stressing that cooperation between the UAE and the United States in the fields of energy and artificial intelligence will witness increasing momentum during the next stage.
He added, “I came in this tour to visit three countries that are one of the main geopolitical allies of the United States in the energy sector, including the UAE, which is its relationship with the United States is increasingly important,” he added.
Chris Wright pointed out that the UAE and the United States are preparing one of the major energy producers in the world, and they have a strong strategic relationship that has proven its durability during crises and in times of stability alike, stressing that the long -term partnership between the two countries in the energy field is a candidate for further growth and prosperity.
He explained that the world faces an increasing need for energy in light of the aspirations of about seven billion people to living levels comparable to developed countries, adding that the UAE has huge potential to expand its energy production, as well as the United States.
He stressed that artificial intelligence represents an emerging sector that has reached a turning point, and requires high energy consumption to turn it into knowledge, noting that the increasing demand for knowledge will lead to a significant increase in energy demand.
Wright praised the entrepreneurial role of the UAE in the field of artificial intelligence, stressing that it is one of the first countries to apply these technologies within its energy systems.
He pointed out that the next stage will witness close cooperation between the UAE and the United States in the fields of energy and artificial intelligence, which includes huge investments in both directions, in addition to the continued geopolitical cooperation between the two countries, expressing his optimism about the future of this partnership.
In response to a question about mutual investments, especially with the launch of the UAE company XRG, Chris Wright explained that there are great opportunities for Emirati investments in the United States, as well as American investments in the Emirates, including capital and technology flows.
He added that artificial intelligence will lead the next stage of energy demand, especially on natural gas and electricity, noting that the UAE has made a great way in this field, which enhances the chances of future partnership.
He stressed that his country is open to foreign investments, and works to empower the private sector and reduce costs, which makes it an attractive destination for investments in the fields of oil, gas and advanced energy.
He explained that oil and gas prices are affected by the free market forces, and is not determined by a specific party, noting that the United States still produces oil at good rates, while natural gas production is rapidly growing, driven by the high domestic demand and increasing export capacity.
He pointed out that price fluctuations in the short term are often due to the perceptions related to the supply and demand of the market, saying: “In the long run, I think we will witness a gradual decrease in oil and gas prices in the United States, and we hope that this will happen globally.”
Chris Wright explained that this decline in prices does not mean a decrease in the profitability of companies, stressing that energy companies will continue to reduce production costs, and will face less governmental burdens, which will reflect positively on the sector.

Chris Wright explained that the flow of capital and technologies is moving in both directions, praising the level of technology used in oil and gas production, as well as early investments in artificial intelligence technologies in the UAE, saying: “The UAE is fascinating our development, and the United States, as a technically leading leader for a long time, continues to work hard in this field.”
He said that the United States is preparing for a new stage of strong growth in oil and gas demand during the coming years, in parallel with the expected increase in production, noting that artificial intelligence will be a major factor in this growth, especially by increasing demand for natural gas and electricity.
He pointed out that President Donald Trump is leading a commercial agenda based on the principles of balance in international trade, and to revive the manufacturing sector in the United States, which contributes to creating local job opportunities and raising wage levels.
