United Nations: Sudan women bear the worst humanitarian crisis in the world

The authority added that Sudanese women and girls are facing a severe inception in food security, disturbing rates of gender -based violence, limited opportunities to obtain health care, education and opportunities to gain livelihood, and that they represent the majority of displaced people within and outside the country’s borders – and they numbered 12 million people.
She emphasized that in less than two years, the number of gender -based violence has doubled three times to 12.1 million people. The UN agency added that reporting the cases of sexual violence associated with the conflict is still much lower than reality, but the evidence indicates its use Systemically as a weapon in war. “
The United Nations Women also indicated that with 80% of hospitals stopping in the areas affected by the conflict, mothers’ deaths have risen sharply, and the chances of women getting sexual and reproductive health care were obstructed.
Exceptional power
Despite these challenges, women emerged as a major respondent and a supporter of peace, as they demanded 50% on negotiating tables, guided by Kampala Women’s Declaration – a vital action plan set by 49 groups led by women, according to the authority.
Anna Motavati, regional director of the United Nations Women in East and South Africa, said women suffer from the most dangerous forms of violence, “While they are systematically excluded from peace operations.” س In order: “This exclusion continues despite the irrefutable evidence of their transformative role in shaping the political scene in Sudan. Their strength is exceptional, but it cannot, and it should not be left to overcome this crisis alone.”
The United Nations Women has urgently called to restore peace and immediate end to all forms of gender -based violence and hold the perpetrators accountable. She stressed the need for local women’s organizations to obtain sufficient resources to protect and empower their societies, and that the voice of women be the focus of all peace negotiations. ”
س In order: “By working together and placing women at the heart of the recovery process, Sudan can start recovery and head towards a more just and stable future.”
