Dubai, April 13 / WAM / The National Anti -Doping Agency in the UAE continues its efforts to enhance integrity in sport, through an integrated system that combines control, awareness and international cooperation, as well as the use of the latest technologies to detect violations, in order to support the state’s position as a regional reference in this field.
The agency was established in 2009 under a government decision; To ensure the UAE’s commitment to international standards in the anti -doping, in cooperation with the World Anti -Doping Agency (WADA), and has since been taken with great steps in creating an advanced organizational and technical structure, concerned with control, prevention and promoting a culture of clean play.
The agency’s programs cover most of the local and international tournaments and competitions that are held in the country, through specialized teams to collect samples and analyze them in accredited laboratories, with the recent expansion to include the athletes of Sunni groups and amateur clubs, which reflects a pre -emptive commitment to building conscious and clean sporting generations.
On the awareness aspect, the agency organizes annually a series of workshops and lectures in clubs, federations and educational institutions, targeting athletes and technical and medical cadres, and deals with banned materials, the rights and duties of athletes, and examination mechanisms, whose content is updated periodically according to international regulations.
In line with the digital transformation, the agency adopted smart systems based on artificial intelligence in data analysis and patterns monitoring, and launched a unified electronic platform for documenting examinations and communication with sports federations, so that the UAE is one of the first countries in the region to apply this integrated digital model.
The agency also strengthens its efforts through cooperation with national and international institutions, most notably the Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, the National Olympic Committee, and the sporting federations working in the country, with the aim of expanding the umbrella of supervisory work, exchanging experiences and ensuring the integration of roles.
The agency seeks to qualify a generation of specialists through credit training programs, which qualified a number of national cadres to work as inspectors and international observers, in a move that contributes to the consolidation of the UAE’s presence in global platforms.
The National Anti -Doping Agency continues to implement its vision in consolidating a sporting culture based on transparency and integrity, through an advanced legislative structure, and local and international integration that enhances the state’s ability to address any violations, and places it at the forefront of international efforts to combat doping.
Dr. Mai Ahmed Al -Jaber, head of the National Anti -Doping Agency, confirmed that the agency puts mathematical integrity at the top of its priorities, and is committed to applying the highest international standards to ensure a clean and fair sports environment in the UAE.
She explained that the agency implements a comprehensive strategy based on awareness and education in addition to censorship, and also includes the development of national cadres through continuous qualification programs and specialized workshops for doping examination officers, keeping pace with the latest developments on the global scene.
She said that international cooperation is one of the main pillars in the agency’s work, with the aim of exchanging experiences and enhancing compliance with the international regulations, and seeing the latest technologies and methods used to detect doping, in order to enhance its regional and international role.
For his part, Eng. Abdullah Ahmed Al -Shehhi, Secretary -General of the Agency, stressed that the agency continues steadily in developing its operational programs to keep pace with the latest scientific and technological developments, relying on an advanced digital structure that integrates artificial intelligence technologies, in order to enhance the efficiency of its regulatory system, and keep pace with international standards (WADA).
He said that investing in technology and training national cadres is a major axis in the agency’s strategy, with the aim of enhancing the UAE regional and international status in the field of sports integrity.
In turn, Dr. Amr Adel, the agency’s technical director, pointed to the implementation of advanced procedures in doping tests, including the introduction of the techniques of examining genetic doping, to contribute to the early detection of accurate violations that may not appear in traditional tests. He stressed that the agency is working to constantly update the analysis protocols in line with scientific developments.
