The Secretary -General is shocked by a Russian attack on a Ukrainian city

A statement issued by a United Nations spokesman stated that the attack that took place on the day of the frond and the beginning of a sacred week is a continuation of a devastating pattern of similar attacks on Ukrainian cities and towns in the past weeks, which resulted in widespread civilian casualties.

The Secretary -General affirmed that the attacks on civilians and civilian notables are prohibited under international humanitarian law and that such attacks – wherever they occur – must end immediately.

The Secretary -General renewed his call for the permanent ceasefire in Ukraine, and he reaffirmed the United Nations support for the glory efforts to achieve a just, lasting and comprehensive peace that preserves the sovereignty, independence and regional safety of Ukraine in line with Ukraine.
