المملكة: The Minister of Human Resources launches the “National Skills Platform” at the Human Capacity Initiative Conference 2025

Under the generous patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Eng. Ahmed Al -Rajhi, participated in the work of the Human Capabilities Initiative Conference 2025, held in the city of Riyadh.
His Excellency stressed in his speech that the Kingdom is witnessing fundamental transformations led by artificial intelligence and the accelerated development in automation, within the features of the fourth and fifth industrial revolutions, explaining that these transformations are no longer part of the future, but rather have become a reality that reshaped the labor market and its basic concepts.
He explained that the challenge is no longer in the availability of opportunities, but rather in the lack of skills necessary to occupy them, which requires redesigning qualification and training models, and keeping pace with the accelerated change in the needs of the market, adding that academic certificates are still important, but they are no longer the only path towards opportunities, noting that the skill has become a major driver of opportunities in the new labor market.

The inauguration of the national skills platform

He also announced the inauguration of the national skills platform within the “Skills speeding” initiative, which aims to rehabilitate more than 300 thousand trainees in strategic sectors that include energy, health care, financial services, and retail trade, through an integrated educational trip and flexible training models that merge between digital and applied learning, in cooperation with the Human Capacity Development Program, and this platform also employs artificial intelligence techniques in classifying skills classification, And directing individuals towards the most compatible training tracks with the market requirements, stressing that it represents a strategic tool to enable national competencies.
He said that the ministry launched the second phase of the national training campaign “Waad”, which aims to provide 3 million training opportunities, after the first stage achieved more than a million opportunities during the target period of the targeted time, and with the participation of 60 entities from the public and private sectors.
Al -Rajhi pointed out that the parallel training initiative for women recorded results that exceeded the target by 22%, through partnerships with 70 training institutions and more than 45 thousand establishments, and achieved a job retention rate of 92% in the private sector.

Understanding notes for training programs

The conference also witnessed the signing of the two three memoranda of understanding between the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development and both the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, and the Ministry of Transport and Logistics, in cooperation with the Human Capacity Development Program, under the auspices of His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for Action Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Abu Abu Hanin, His Excellency the Assistant Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Dr. Abdullah Al -Ahmari, and His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Transport and Logistics Services Dr. Rumaih bin Muhammad Al -Rumaih, with the aim of supporting implementation The “Skills speeding” initiative by providing training programs for the targeted sectors, and activating the digital and media possibilities, as well as developing studies and indicators associated with the development of human capabilities.

The importance of human capital

At the end of his speech, the minister stressed that the development of human capital is an essential pillar to achieve the target of Saudi Vision 2030, and that the Kingdom depends on developing the labor market on three pillars: flexibility in policies, inclusiveness in opportunities, and integration between governmental, private and academic sectors, in a way that ensures an effective response to global variables and the acceleration of change in work environments.
He highlighted the regulatory efforts led by the Ministry in building a national skills system, by establishing 13 sectoral councils for skills with the participation of more than 240 representatives from the relevant authorities, as well as developing national professional standards for 300 professions, in order to enhance the harmony between training outcomes and labor market needs.
It is noteworthy that the Human Capacity Initiative Conference 2025 is held in its second edition in Riyadh, and more than 300 speakers of thought and experts from different countries of the world, under the slogan “post -preparedness for the future”, brings together the ways to discuss the ways of developing human capabilities and developing human capital in line with future global changes.
