About 50 people were killed in two attacks, on Sunday evening, in the center of Nigeria, which is witnessing repeated tribal clashes, according to Monday, the Red Cross official and a number of residents told AFP.
“I confirm the killing of 47 people, the injury of 22 others and their transfer to the hospital, and it also burned five houses in addition to other property,” a Red Cross official, who asked not to be identified, told AFP.
Dangers Dixon Otta, the National Secretary of the Irigoy Development Association, confirmed this outcome.
He explained that “the violence occurred around eight in the evening, killing 47 people and wounding many.”

Ethnic

The attacks in the villages of Zik and Kimakba were arrested, ten days after similar attacks that killed more than 40 people in the same area in Plato, located between North North Nigeria, Muslim and South Christian, which witnesses repeatedly ethnic and religious violence.
“Unidentified gunmen entered the village and fired randomly. They killed eight people and wounded others, and several houses were burned,” Durkas John, a resident of the village of Zik, told AFP.
John Adamo, a resident of Kimakba, the other village that was attacked, reported that shearing shots.
“They left your uniform and came to our village, where they killed 39 people and others were wounded,” he added.
The local authorities condemned the attacks, without immediately announcing the death toll.

Series of attacks

“This series of attacks represents an existential threat to the residents who live in the state and their source of livelihood,” Joyce Randab, media official in Plato, told AFP.
“It is painful that this sad incident occurred in another society less than two weeks after our citizens were killed in the town of Bokos,” she added.
