314 billion euros, the volume of exports of European medical and pharmaceutical products

The European Union has achieved a record in the size of its exports from in 2024, registering an increase in revenue by 13.5 percent compared to 2023.
In 2024, a value of medical and pharmaceutical products amounted to 313.4 billion euros, according to data published today by the European Union Statistical Office (Eurostat).

Meanwhile, imports were only recorded a slight increase of 0.5 percent, to 119.7 billion euros.
The European Union Trade Union in medical and pharmaceutical products in 2024 reached a total of 193.6 billion euros, setting a record.

Most exports in 2024 went to the United States of America at a total value of 89 billion euros.

Medical sector in Europe

Germany topped the European Union countries exporting medical and pharmaceutical products with an exports size of 67.9 billion euros, followed by Ireland with 66 billion euros, then Belgium with 41 billion euros.
Germany is also the most importing country of the European Union for medical and pharmaceutical products in 2024, with a value of 23 billion euros, followed by Belgium with 3 billion euros, then the Netherlands with 7 billion euros.
