The Sudan war creates the worst crisis in the world

Filippo Grande, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, confirmed that the war in Sudan has caused what is now described as the worst humanitarian crisis and forced displacement in the world, noting that the humanitarian situation is seriously exacerbated as a result of severe discounts in the size of international aid provided.

Grande said, in statements today, Tuesday, in Geneva, after his return from a visit to Chad to determine the conditions of the Sudanese refugees, who number about one million refugees, that Sudanese civilians were stuck in the midst of the conflict, and they face a remarkable ignorance of the international community, which during the past two years did not show interest in peace in Sudan or the relief of its neighbors.

He pointed out that the Commission will face many difficulties in alleviating the burden of human suffering due to the acute shortage of available financing, and he believed that the world has also turned its back to the countries and societies that received this huge number of refugees.

The High Commissioner warned that the entire stability of the region has become real, stressing the urgent need not only to provide urgent humanitarian protection, but also to provide sustainable development assistance that enables the host governments to provide a better future for refugees and their people.

Grande concluded his statement by emphasizing that the world can no longer ignore this emergency, and that efforts must be made to make peace in Sudan.
