China must initiate with us on customs recognition
US President Donald Trump said that China, not the United States, must come to the negotiating table in the trade file on customs recognition, and the White House announced on Tuesday.
“The ball is at the China Stadium, and China must conclude an agreement with us, we are not the ones who have to conclude an agreement with them,” said a statement by the President, a spokeswoman for US presidential spokeswoman, Caroline Levitte, at a press conference.
“With the exception of being much larger, I do not have a difference between China and any other country,” Levitte added.
Take the first step
As Trump’s openness to concluding an agreement with Beijing, Levitte stressed that China must take the initiative to take the first step, because the power of the American consumer market constitutes a pressure card.
Commercial tensions between Washington and Beijing have escalated since the beginning of the year.
Trump initially imposed customs duties on Chinese imports against the background of accusing Beijing of being involved in the supply of narcotic fentanel, and raised the percentage of these fees sharply in recent times in response to commercial practices of China that Washington is prejudiced.
Since the beginning of this year, Trump imposed customs customs acquaintances of 145% on many Chinese imports, in addition to fees imposed by previous departments.
This included 20% in connection with Beijing’s non -combating the supply of fentanel and other narcotic substances, in addition to 125% related to commercial practices.
However, the Trump administration has decided to exempt some advanced technology goods such as smartphones and computers from recent identification.
