The UAE reviews its efforts to transplant organs during “Abu Dhabi Health Week”

The Chairman of the National Committee for the donation and the transplantation of members in the UAE, Dr. Ali Abdel Karim Al -Obaidli, stressed that the program of organ transplantation in the UAE is one of the fastest global growth in terms of participation rate, noting that 354 people have benefited from the transfer of organs during the past year, which reflects the root of the culture of altruism, prevention and the spirit of giving in Emirati society.
He added, on the sidelines of his participation in a session entitled: “The New Age in Organ Transplantation”, within the activities of “Abu Dhabi International Health Week”, that the session represented an important platform to review the UAE’s leadership in this vital field, and highlight its efforts in consolidating the culture of organ donation and enhancing societal awareness in it.
Remarkable
Dr. Al -Obaidli said that the dialogue session was a qualitative opportunity to highlight the strong launch that the National Program for Donation and Organization witnessed, which received a remarkable interaction from different groups of society, where individuals of more than 55 nationalities participated, whether as donors or beneficiaries, which reflects the diversity of the Emirati fabric and its human cohesion.
He praised the great support of the wise leadership, which was the main engine behind the successes achieved, stressing that the positive Emirates environment, which is based on tolerance and humanitarian brotherhood, provided a solid ground for the growth of the program and enhancing its culture.
Keep up with international best practices
He explained that the UAE is preparing for a new stage of legislative development in this sector, characterized by pre -emptive and keeping pace with international best practices, pointing out that the real heroes of this success are the donors and their families who embodied the highest meanings of giving even after death.
Dr. Al -Obaidli called on members of society and those interested to identify the inspiring success stories of the beneficiaries of organ transplantation, from children and adults who live among us today thanks to this program, stressing the importance of registration in a “life link”, and contributing to spreading a culture of prevention and donation of organs as a message of loyalty and humanity for a community that celebrates life.
