المملكة: A workshop reviews skills surveys, “speeding” initiative and international experiences

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development organized a specialized workshop entitled: “Review and discussing the outputs of professions and skills planning”, under the auspices of the Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for Action Dr. Abdullah Abu Hanin, with the participation of a number of representatives of a number of governmental and private agencies and heads of the sectoral councils for skills, as well as a group of experts and specialists from international organizations.
D. Abu Denin, during his opening speech, is the importance of enhancing integration between national authorities in planning professions and skills, in a way that contributes to keeping pace with the rapid transformations in the labor market, and achieving the targets of the Kingdom’s 2030 vision, stressing the importance of employing modern data and analyzes in building an effective and sustainable national skill system.

A comprehensive offer

The workshop witnessed a comprehensive offer from the Undersecretary for Skills and Training Dr. Ahmed Al -Zahrani, in which he dealt with the most prominent achievements of the Ministry in the areas of building skill frameworks, developing policies, and align education and training outcomes with the needs of the labor market.
A detailed report was also reviewed on the results of the national skills surveys implemented in cooperation with the World Bank, and the analytical data and recommendations that support decision makers in the areas of planning and development.

Agenda

The workshop’s agenda included a presentation of the trainee journey within the “Skills speeding” initiative, and the accompanying electronic platform, which is digitally possible that contributes to raising the efficiency of the targeted workforce from the initiative.
The workshop was concluded with an offer presented by the International Labor Organization, dealing with the sectoral use of skills data, and the challenges associated with it, in addition to reviewing the best international practices in this field.

National skills

This workshop comes within the efforts of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development to enhance the development of national skills, develop the profession system, and raise the efficiency of human capital, in a manner that supports the productivity of the labor market and keeps pace with the targets of national development.
