"Abu Dhabi Arabic Language" Registration opens in "Writing workshop for teens"

ABU DHABI, 7 APRIL / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center announced today the opening of registration for the “Writing Workshop for Young People” within the “Qalam Creative Writing” programme, which is directed to support Emirati writers, hone their writing abilities, and encourage them to submit distinguished literary works.
Registration continues until April 14, while the workshop program, supervised by writer Hoda Shawa, will be held from April 18 to 24, with the aim of improving the writing abilities of its participants within a creative laboratory, which reflects the center’s efforts in supporting the creativity and writing movement, within Abu Dhabi’s vision for culture and identity, and as a contribution to the advancement of the Arabic language, and interest in learning and enriching it.
The workshop provides extensive information to participants, covering the standards for writing any creative work, and includes conscious and appropriate artistic choices in writing stories, including a topic, ideas, title, time frame, drawing characters, the body of the story, a plot, and an important conclusion that settles in the mind of the reader.
The workshop reviews best practices and practical applications in writing young adult novels. Such as graceful movement between dialogue and narration, choosing kinetic actions, casting language, and employing the senses to build a story world that is attractive to the young age group, all the way to an ending that affects the imagination.
The conditions for applying to the workshop include that the applicant must be a serious Emirati talent and writer, aged 18 years and over, and must commit to attending the workshops in full.
