The Central Bank appoints an executive head and a delegated member of “Sankak”

The Emirates Central Bank announced the appointment of Fayza Al -Awadi as an executive head and a member of the “Sankak” unit, which is the first unit for the settlement of banking and insurance disputes in the Middle East and North Africa region.

Fayza Al -Awadi has experience extending to more than 25 years in the government and private sectors, mainly focused in the fields of consumer protection and quality of services, where he held several leadership positions, including the position of head of the Department of Control of Market and Consumer Protection, through which she worked to develop the regulatory and legislative system.

In addition, several leadership positions in the financial sector in the UAE, including the management of the branches, and the position of the head of planning and support for operations, in addition to the position of Vice President for the Quality of Services and Institutional Communication.
Fayza Al -Awadi has occupied the membership of the Board of Directors of the “Sandak” unit since its establishment, and has also chaired many local, regional and international teams and committees.

It is currently chairing a financial consumer protection group and financial culture, as part of the national framework to work to enhance financial inclusion and financial culture at the state level.

Fayza Al -Awadi holds a master’s degree in International Business Law from the University of Paris – Pantheon – Basis, as well as professional certificates in governance, compliance, leadership, and risk management.

The appointment of Fayza Al -Awadi, according to the Central, is an affirmation of the commitment of “Sankak” to enhance the role of unity in achieving balance and justice in banking and insurance disputes in the UAE. This is also in line with the UAE Central Bank strategy, which aims to enhance consumer protection and financial inclusion in the country.
