“Dubai Roads” inaugurates the trial operation of an electric bus with high technologies

Dubai Roads and Transport Authority inaugurated an experimental operation of an electric bus operating on the font feeding the metro stations, which starts from the bus shelter in Al -Quoz and passes through areas such as Burj Khalifa, The Plus Downtown Hotel, and Dubai fountain, and reaches the area of the Dubai Metro bus, the south of the south. The electric bus is provided with high -development technologies, including smart technologies such as the high -resolution cameras and screens system instead of traditional mirrors, and a transparent display showing the basic information on the windshield to facilitate driving, and other smart and modern features.
The Roads and Transport Authority seeks to operate collective transportation supported by the latest smart and environmentally friendly technologies, which documents its efforts in converting all mass transportation, into carbon emissions -free transportation by 2050, and thus smooth and sustainable transfer in the Emirate of Dubai.
The bus was designed to suit the local environment of the Emirate of Dubai, which is equipped with smart and innovative technologies and modern specifications, including the air conditioning system, which is the finest in its class, and with batteries with a capacity of 470 kilowatts per hour, and it is the largest compared to the tried electrical buses in the authority’s fleet previously, and the bus travels a distance of 370 kilometers when the battery is fully charged, which is a city bus with a length of 12 meters, Its capacity is 76 passengers: (41 seats and a parking space for 35 passengers).
Marwan Al -Zarouni, director of buses at the Public Transportation Foundation at the Roads and Communications Authority, said: “The technologies that the new electric bus from” Volvo “will enable the authority’s team to achieve results that contribute to adopting new ideas and specifications in future buses, raising the levels of performance and safety during the trip.”
He added: “The Authority will monitor the environmental benefits resulting from the operation of the electric bus, within the fleet of the General Transportation Foundation, on a vital line with passengers, measuring the percentage of low carbon emissions, the actual distance that the bus travels when shipped entirely, and the bus’s ability to meet the operational needs of the Emirate of Dubai during various weather conditions, especially during the summer months.”
Al -Zarouni added, “Our investments in expanding the fleet, technology development, and infrastructure modernization show our commitment to meeting the increasing demand for public bus service, while enhancing the reliability of the service, improving customer service, and we are still committed to providing sustainable and effective transport services, focusing on the comfort and happiness of customers.
