The World Trade Organization has reduced its expectations for global trade growth during the current year after increasing American customs duties, and the expansion of the state of ambiguity surrounding international trade.
The organization based in the Swiss city of Geneva said that it expects a decrease in the volume of commodity trade in the world during the current year by 0.2%, which is less than 3 percentage points than what the trade volume could have achieved if the trade war caused by American fees did not break out.

The Bloomberg News Agency indicated that the movement of the flow of goods and services in the world, which witnessed a turbulent period during the new Korona pandemic, returned to its normal rates before the election of US President Donald Trump to the US presidency in November.

During his election campaign, Trump promised to revive the American middle class through customs duties targeting China and other countries that the United States suffers from a major trade deficit with it.
Two weeks ago, Trump announced the so -called mutual customs duties ranging from 10% and 50%, but days after most of the fees were suspended for a period of 90 days, and he kept the minimum of 10% for all countries except China, which is now facing exports to the United States now customs fees exceeding 100%.
The aim of this exemption was to give bilateral negotiations enough time.
