US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that the United States is in talks with China on customs duties, expressing his confidence that the world’s two largest economic powers can reach an agreement that ends the trade war.
“Yes, we are holding talks with China,” Trump said in a statement to reporters at the oval office, adding: “You have contacted us several times.”

Trump confirmed that the talks took place after the commercial fees on China increased to 145 percent, after Beijing responded to a previous increase in American identification.
But Trump has caution in his response to a question about whether he was talking directly with Chinese President Xi Jinping, although he had previously alluded to he did so.
He said, “I never said whether or not it had taken place,” in response to a question about talks with Shi.

When a correspondent asked a question about if something continues with him, Trump replied: “You might think it is self -evident that he has done, but we will talk about this soon.”
The Trump administration launched a commercial war against China that caused hugs in global markets.
Earlier, Trump said: “I think we will conclude a very good agreement with China,” when he received Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni, who is visiting Washington for talks aimed at ending the American definitions of the European Union.
