Faris Al Mazrouei: The UAE plays a prominent role in preserving the World Heritage

Abu Dhabi, April 18/ WAM/ His Excellency Major General Fares Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, confirmed that the UAE plays a prominent role in preserving the World Heritage.

His Excellency said, in a speech on the occasion of the “World Heritage Day”, which falls on April 18 of each year, that celebrating this occasion represents a joint global invitation to protect and introduce human heritage in various forums, in line with the national identity of every people and the civilizational privacy of each society.

He added that the celebration of this occasion comes out of the national commitment to highlight the efforts made by the UAE in preserving heritage and its support at the local and global levels, as it is a pioneer in preserving its heritage and identity, and continues its prominent efforts since its ratification of the Convention on the Protection of Cultural and Natural Heritage approved by the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization “UNESCO” in 1972.

He said that the authority adheres to the national heritage vision as one of the columns of identity and reflects the civilized depth of the UAE, as it is an essential axis in sustainable development efforts.

His Excellency added that the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority operates according to an integrated strategy to preserve the Emirati heritage and still, in a way that establishes the values ​​of our national identity and our authentic heritage customs, and documents our heritage through conducting studies and research, indicating that these efforts support the rich heritage of the emirate, and enhance its presence and influence, where the celebration of this occasion represents an affirmation of the national commitment to highlight the efforts of the UAE in sustaining the heritage and its support on it Local and international levels.
