Inventory the use of national costume and symbols related to the national identity in “communication ads” to citizens

“Emirates Today” learned that the organizational decision that was referred to in the Federal National Council session on the protection of the national identity has not been implemented yet, as it aims to organize the advertisements that are circulated, published or broadcast through content makers and advertisers only on social media, and not in the media in general.
The sources confirmed that, according to the organizational decision that will be activated soon by the Emirates Media Council, the bodies wishing to publish advertisements that include the national costume or any of the symbols related to the cultural and civilizational heritage of the state must use an Emirati citizen to perform the advertisement, in order to preserve the national identity and ensure the provision of content, which reflects the cultural values of the state.
• The decision does not apply to the use of the Emirati dialect in the media in general.
