The UAE participates in the first Chinese Gulf Forum for the peaceful use of nuclear technology

Chengdu- China on April 24/ WAM/ The UAE participated in the first Chinese Gulf Forum on the peaceful use of nuclear technology, which is held in Chengdu, People’s Republic of China, from 20 to 25 April, to confirm during its effective participation in its commitment to peaceful nuclear energy, international cooperation, and climate work.

The forum, titled “Corn for a Better Women”, brings together senior officials, regulatory bodies and energy experts from China and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries to enhance strategic cooperation in nuclear science and technology.

Rashid Al -Falahi, Director of Governmental Affairs and International Cooperation at the Federal Nuclear Control Authority, stressed the long -term strategic partnership between the UAE and China, which is rooted in trust, common values ​​and a common vision of innovation -based development, highlighting the effective regulatory and operational framework of the UAE in the field of nuclear energy, which put the state as a model for the peaceful use of nuclear technology in the Arab world.

On the sidelines of the forum, the country delegation made a series of high -level technical visits to major nuclear facilities in China, including the advanced nuclear integration research center, as well as Chengdo Gotong for radioactive glasses and other facilities.

The delegation also visited the site of the normative AcP100 reactor – which is one of the main achievements in China’s innovation in the field of advanced nuclear technology, as well as discussions on cooperation opportunities in the application of nuclear energy systems.

The UAE and China are linked to close cooperation in nuclear energy, which dates back to 2018, when the Federal Nuclear Supervision Authority signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Nuclear Safety Authority in China, which established the foundations of continuous cooperation in areas such as nuclear safety, emergency preparedness, and regulatory coordination.

As the work of the China and the Gulf Cooperation Council continues, the UAE renewed its intention to deepen cooperation with China and the countries of the Council at all stages of nuclear energy programs from setting policies and training to safety and advanced technologies standards, and the UAE is still a strong supporter of peaceful nuclear development as an essential tool in the transformation of energy and global climate work.
