A new Emirati standard for the transport of dangerous goods on wild roads

Dubai, April 25/ WAM/ The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, represented by the Department of Land Transport Affairs, organized a specialized workshop, in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology represented in the Standardization Affairs Sector, the Arms Office and dangerous materials of the Supreme Council of National Security, with the aim of displaying and discussing the Emirati standard “UAE.S 5060: 2024” concerned with transporting dangerous goods on land roads.
The workshop, hosted by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure in Dubai yesterday, witnessed a wide participation of the relevant government agencies concerned with the transfer of dangerous materials, as the most prominent requirements of the new standard, and its goals in raising the level of road safety, and ensuring compliance with the highest international standards in this vital field were highlighted.
The organization of the workshop comes within the framework of the keenness of the ministries of energy and infrastructure, industry and advanced technology, the arms and dangerous materials office, to enhance integration between the concerned authorities, and to unify organizational procedures, in a way that contributes to the development of the land transport system in the country, and enhances the levels of prevention and protection in dealing with dangerous materials.
During the event, the mechanism of implementing the standard standard was reviewed, and its role in supporting safe transportation operations in accordance with the approved international practices, and within the efforts of the Ministry of Industry and the advanced technology to enhance the quality infrastructure system in the country.
