Sharjah reviews its investment opportunities in front of a group of Belgian diplomats and investors

Sharjah, April 25 / WAM / The Emirate of Sharjah reviewed, in front of a group of Belgian diplomats and investors, the most promising vital sectors and opportunities it provides to European investors, especially in the fields of technology, logistics services, health care, education and culture.
This came during an official dinner ceremony organized by the Government Relations Department in Sharjah at the Chidi Al -Bayt Hotel in the heart of the heart of Sharjah, in the presence of Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi, head of the department and His Excellency Antoine Delcor, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to the UAE, and also gathered the heads and managers of a number of bodies and institutions in the emirate.
The meeting comes within the framework of the efforts of the Emirate of Sharjah to strengthen economic relations with European Union countries and explore new investment opportunities, as it was an important occasion to exchange visions and discuss ways to expand the prospects for economic cooperation in line with the aspirations of the emirate’s development.
Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi stressed that the meeting represents a new step in the growing partnership path between the Emirate of Sharjah and the Kingdom of Belgium, and reflects the emirate’s keenness to enhance economic and cultural communication channels with partners in the European Union, which is the second largest commercial partner of the UAE.
Al -Qasimi said that the indicators confirm the strength of economic relations between the two sides, as the non -oil trade between the UAE and the European Union continues to achieve stable growth rates at a time when Belgium is highlighted as a pivotal partner within this system, especially in the areas of re -export and logistical integration, as it ranks first in re -export from the UAE to the countries of the Union, indicating the depth of interdependence between our ports and markets.
Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi expressed his pride in the level of bilateral relations and the advanced economic partnership that brings together the UAE and Belgium, where the rates of non -oil trade exchange are rapidly growing, and the UAE acquires an important percentage of Belgium’s trade with the Arab world, which reflects mutual confidence that establishes more qualitative cooperation in the sectors of innovation, technology and infrastructure, hoping that today’s meeting will be a gateway to open greater opportunities between investors Belgian who want to expand their work in the Emirate of Sharjah and take advantage of the opportunities it provides.
This initiative comes as a continuation of a series of meetings organized by the Department of Government Relations with the Belgian side, whether within the country or in the capital “Brussels” in the context of Sharjah’s keenness to build long -term partnerships with European investors and enhance its position as an attractive destination for specific investment in the region.
The meeting witnessed the attendance of both Jourin Celeslag, the advisor to political affairs and the deputy head of the Belgian diplomatic mission, Albert Vitonz, the Commissioner for Science and Technology, to the Flanders Investment and Trade Agency, and Lawrence Heplum, Commercial Commissioner for the Brussels Region, and Mrs. Edith Mayor, a trade -off in the Walon region, along with a number of officials from the Emirate of Sharjah between them, His Excellency Hussein Al -Mahmoudi, Executive Director of the Complex Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation, His Excellency Mohamed Gomaa Al -Mashriq, Executive Director of the Sharjah Foreign Investment Office (Invest in Sharjah), His Excellency Khaled Al -Harimel, CEO of an environment group, and His Excellency Omar Al Mulla, CEO of Sharjah Asset Management Office.
Representatives of a number of major Belgian companies operating in the region also participated in the meeting in the fields of infrastructure, energy, finance, technology, industry and services, which provided direct opportunities for discussion, exchange of experiences and exploring possible projects for future cooperation.
