Al -Ahly is heading to dismiss Kuller on Saturday

News reported from sources inside the Egyptian Al-Ahly Club confirmed that the board of directors, headed by Mahmoud Al-Khatib, decided to dismiss the Swiss coach Marcel Kuller from his position as a technical director of the first football team, after the disappointing tie with the South African Mamelodi Sundays, a score of 1-1 in the second leg of the African Champions League semi-final, which was held on Friday.

The media covered that the decision came after Al-Ahly left the continental championship, as Sundays benefited from the goal base outside the ground after a negative tie (0-0) in the first leg in South Africa.

Al -Ahly fans expressed their great anger at the team’s performance, lengthening criticism of Caller for the formation and changes that were considered unsuccessful, in addition to the decline in technical performance in recent matches.

It was frequent from sources described as reliable that Al -Ahly’s board of directors will hold an emergency meeting during the coming hours to officially issue the dismissal decision, with Sami Qumsan, the assistant coach, led by the team temporarily to contract with a new technical director before the start of the Club World Cup in June 2025.

Reports indicated that the termination of the Koler contract, which extends until the summer of 2026, will cost Al -Ahly a penalty condition that is estimated at two months of the value of his contract, as the technical staff will receive 250 thousand dollars per month. There was a previous penalty clause that obliged Koller to pay one million euros if he left early, but he was not activated as the season continued.
