“White” focuses on “training sessions” without playing friendly matches

Yesterday, the first national football team performed its second training session at Zayed Sports City Stadium during its current internal camp, which began the day before yesterday in Abu Dhabi, and will continue until the 30th of this month as part of the team’s preparations for the upcoming participations, represented by the 27th Gulf Cup scheduled in Saudi Arabia during the period from September 23 to October 6 next, as well as the 2027 Asian Cup finals also scheduled in Saudi Arabia during the period from January 7 to February 5, 2027, while the Football Association announced, Yesterday, the team would only perform training sessions during the current camp without playing any friendly international matches.

On the other hand, the technical staff decided to include Baniyas Club player, Suhail Al Noubi, in the list, while Al Jazira Club player, Marcos Meloni, was excluded due to the injury he sustained during his participation with his club and his need for treatment and rest.

The team was scheduled to play two friendly matches against the Armenian and Faroese teams on the 26th and 30th of this month, according to the program drawn up by the team’s technical staff led by Romanian coach Olario Cosmin, with the aim of preparing the players by playing the largest number of friendly matches before entering the atmosphere of official matches during the coming period.

Daily exercises

Coach Kuzmin is scheduled to limit himself during daily training to working on strengthening the strengths of the team, in addition to addressing some of the technical gaps that accompanied the team’s journey during the recent period, especially during its recent participation in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, which caused its failure to qualify for the World Cup, even though it had more than one opportunity to achieve this dream.

The national team’s technical staff seeks to make the most of the current internal camp period by examining the levels of its players selected in the new list, especially the six players who were included in the national team for the first time, namely: Shabab Al-Ahly players Youri Cesar and Guilherme Bala, Al-Sharjah player Othman Kamara, Al-Jazira player Mamadou Coulibaly, Al-Nasr player Joulauber Lima, and Al-Dhafra player Leonardo Amesicchio.

The team’s roster in the Abu Dhabi camp includes 24 players, namely: Ali Khasif, Hamad Al-Muqbali, Adel Al-Hosani, Badr Nasser, Richard O’Connor, Golauber Lima, Sascha Ivkovic, Khalifa Al-Hammadi, Leonardo Amicio, Mohamed Rabie, Guilherme DaSilva, Ali Saleh, Abdullah Hamad, Mohamed Abbas, Mamadou Coulibaly, Issam Fayez, and Yahya Nader, Nicholas Jimenez, Yahya Al-Ghassani, Hareb Abdullah, Othman Kamara, Yuri Cesar, and Bruno Oliveira, in addition to Baniyas player Suhail Al-Noubi, whom the national team’s technical staff decided to include in place of the injured Al-Jazira player Marcos Meloni.
