"Abu Dhabi Book".. initiatives that enhance cultural and cognitive awareness among members of society

Abu Dhabi, April 27/ WAM/ The Abu Dhabi International Book Fair provides a platform for national institutions to review a set of innovative initiatives, which aim to enhance cultural and knowledge awareness among members of society, coinciding with the “Year of Society”.

The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Knowledge, during its participation in the exhibition, sheds light on a group of its activities and initiatives that support the spread of the culture of community reading and enhance the association of society groups with the book.

His Excellency Jamal bin Huwairb, Executive Director of the “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation”, confirmed in a statement to Emirates News Agency “WAM” that the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair has become one of the major international exhibitions that attract a prominent presence from the countries of the world, noting that the Foundation’s wing witnesses over the days of more than 100 various activities, and the Foundation sheds light on a number of its initiatives.

He said that among the initiatives reviewed by the Foundation in the exhibition is the “Arabic” initiative, the “My Family Read” initiative, the “Dubai International Writing” program, and “Knowledge Rest”, in addition to many seminars and dialogue sessions and signatures of trainees within the Dubai International Writing Program.

He stressed that the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair constitutes a scientific and knowledge demonstration, stressing the importance of prominent presence of all groups of society, especially the youth category, because reading is an important pillar of sustaining knowledge and promoting cultural awareness.

The “Arabic” initiative, launched by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation in 2013, contributes to enhancing the spread of the Arabic language and supporting its use by young generations, and encouraging Arabs to use their mother tongue on the World Wide Web, and contribute to increasing Arabic content on the Internet and social media.

As for the “My Family Read” initiative, it aims to spread cultural awareness and encourage reading among family members, by enabling the sons and daughters of the Emirates to see international literature and science, with the aim of producing creative national minds capable of leading the future.

The “Dubai International Writing” program aims to encourage and empower young talents who have the talent of writing in various areas of knowledge, from science and research to literature, novel and poetry, and reaching it to the world.

The program is one of the most prominent cognitive projects of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Knowledge, and since its launch in 2013, a march full of distinguished achievements has been established, and provided an incubator environment for creativity and innovation, which contributed to enriching the literary and knowledge movement at the local, regional and global levels.

During its career, the program witnessed the organization of a large number of workshops and training courses in the fields of writing, novel, translation, child literature, adolescent literature, and the short story, where these workshops were held in the UAE, then expanded to include many Arab countries, with the aim of attracting young, promising Arab talents in the field of writing, supporting and enabling them to play an active role in the manufacture and dissemination of knowledge in the Arab world. A prominent book in various areas of knowledge.

A “knowledge break” is one of the initiatives aimed at promoting qualitative reading, and making it an essential part of the daily life of individuals.

The initiative organizes interactive meetings and sessions that bring together readers with authors, self -development coaches, and specialists, to discuss and review books, which creates space for deep dialogue and exchanging ideas.
It also seeks to develop the skills of those affiliated with analytical and critical reading, and to enhance their ability to manage dialogues and intellectual discussions effectively.
The activities and activities of the “knowledge break” extend to all the emirates of the state and some Arab countries, in an inspiring atmosphere that stimulates cognitive interaction.
