"Jaffna" Reviving the communal breakfast culture in Ajman

Ajman, February 28 / WAM / The Ajman Board of Supervisors hosted the “Al Yafna” initiative, in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Majid Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Citizens Affairs Office, and with the participation of a group of the emirate’s people, to promote the culture of collective breakfast in residential neighbourhoods, as an authentic social practice that reflects authentic Emirati values.
The “Al-Yafna” initiative is an iftar run by the community for the community, as it stems from the spirit of the Emirati community to revive the custom of communal iftar in various neighborhoods of the country, reflecting the values of generosity, compassion, and togetherness on which Emirati society grew up.
The initiative presents Emirati customs in an organized community framework in each emirate, by gathering people around the breakfast table in the neighbourhoods, to be an experience that enhances cohesion, builds social ties, and embodies the spirit of participation, emphasizing the authentic values that the Emirati family cherishes.
The initiative also aims to enhance community cohesion and strengthen ties between community members, encourage communication and acquaintance between neighbors, and build relationships based on cooperation and belonging, in addition to highlighting the Emirati Ramadan identity in a way that is close to the community and reflects authentic local traditions.
