The “plane” takes off strongly at the Nad Al Sheba course

Volleyball competitions kicked off strongly as part of the 13th edition of the Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament, the most prominent sporting event in the holy month of Ramadan, which is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, and under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, under the slogan “Limitless Capabilities.”

The volleyball tournament began its journey the day before yesterday evening, with a strong confrontation between the teams of Fahud Zabeel and Yazar, in the first group competitions, and resulted in Yazar winning 3-2 in a marathon match characterized by closeness and closeness in technical and physical levels, giving the fans an exciting start to the tournament.

The competitions will continue today with a match between Al Samawi and Panthers Zabeel at nine o’clock in the evening in the first group, while the matches of the second group will be completed tomorrow with two matches, the first bringing together Zabeel with “MI Investment” at nine o’clock in the evening, followed by a confrontation between Tiger Zabeel and Al Tadawi at 11 p.m.

The participating teams were divided into two groups, the first of which included: Fahud Zabeel, Yazar, and Al Samawi, while the second included: Zabeel, Al Tadawi, MI Investment, and Tiger Zabeel.

Padel final

In the Nad Al Sheba Padel Team Championship, the final match was completed with the UAE and Egyptian teams qualifying, following strong confrontations witnessed by a number of officials, led by Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Tennis and Padel Federation, along with prominent sports leaders.

The UAE national team secured its place in the final by defeating its Kuwaiti counterpart with a score of 2-0, and the duo Sergio Icardo and Iñigo Jhofri defeated Badr Al-Saeed and Hamoud Al-Junaidal in two sets (6-1, 6-1), before the duo Faris Al-Janahi and Abdullah Al-Abdullah decided the second confrontation against Hussein Shams and Abdullah Al-Awadi (6-1, 7-6).

For its part, the Egyptian national team qualified after defeating its Moroccan counterpart with a score of 2-1. The duo, Ali Zaghloul and Sherif Makhlouf, opened the Egyptian advantage by overcoming Mohamed Al-Alami and Adam Moumar (6-3, 6-2), before Morocco equalized through Al-Omrani Reda and Mehdi Ziadi in front of Omar Makhlouf and Mohamed Al-Manisi (6-3, 6-0), so that the duo, Mohamed Al-Jarhi and Mohamed Abu Al-Qasim, clinched the qualification ticket by defeating Mekwar Ali and Khalil Otalib (6-4, 6-2).

Awards for the audience

The organizing committee invited the public to follow the padel and volleyball tournaments from the stands of the covered hall in the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex, and to participate in the daily draws that include luxury cars, smartphones and other valuable prizes, in a distinctive Ramadan sports atmosphere.


A top priority for the courts and the municipality in the wheelchair basket

The curtain came down on the third day of the Wheelchair Basketball Championship, after 12 of the 20 matches had been completed.

In Group A, the Dubai Courts team continued its positive results by defeating the Community Development Authority (30-23), while the Roads and Transport Authority defeated the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (35-18). In Group B, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority defeated the Department of Finance (29-27), while the Dubai Municipality team confirmed its superiority over the Dubai Police General Command (31-15).

In terms of the ranking, Dubai Courts leads Group A with a full score (6 points), followed by the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (4 points), then the Community Development Authority and the Roads and Transport Authority (3 points each), while Iskan Real Estate Development is at the bottom (2 points).

In Group B, Dubai Municipality takes the lead (6 points), followed by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (4 points), then the Dubai Police General Headquarters and the Department of Finance (3 points each), and finally the Federal Identity Authority (2 points).

The group stage matches will be completed today in the Dubai Club for People of Determination hall, with the two semi-final matches being held next Monday, with the third place match being held next Tuesday, while the event will conclude next Wednesday with the final match being held in the Nad Al Sheba Hall.
