I learned from the UAE to adhere to global excellence and openness

The Austrian Minister of Economy and Labor, Wolfgang Hatmandorf, praised the UAE and the values of excellence and global openness that he touched during his visit to it, and he said in a press interview on the sidelines of the event of “a summit that discovered Europe meets the event of welcome 2025″, which concluded its work yesterday, in Dubai: “I learned from the Emirates two main things: commitment to excellence, global openness, and these two things we need to enhance them more Austria”.
The Austrian minister added that his visit was not limited to holding economic partnerships, but was also a learning journey.
He noted the generosity of hospitality, and he said that we share the same values, and that this common spirit is a solid basis for strengthening economic relations, noting that the volume of trade exchange between Austria and the UAE amounted to about one billion euros, with the presence of aspirations to increase it in the near future.
Austria welcomed 146.8 thousand tourists from the Emirates, during the past year 2024, during their visit, during their visit, 447 thousand nights.
The minister stressed the need to encourage more Austrian tourists to visit the Emirates, and attract more Emirati tourists to Austria, and Wolfgang Hatmandorf said that during the past year, the Austrians of Austrians said that, during the past year, about 12.339 million euros.
He affirmed that his visit to the Emirates comes within the framework of keenness to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries, especially in light of the common denominators between them, whether at the level of the area, the population or the values system.
He explained that the areas of cooperation with the UAE include energy, especially renewable energy, in addition to the construction sector, as a pioneering Austrian companies participate in projects within the country.
He expressed an interest in expanding cooperation in the field of infrastructure, pharmaceutical and medical industries.
He stressed the importance of free trade agreements, stressing the support of the Austrian government to launch the negotiations of the free trade agreement between the European Union and the UAE.
He said: “We believe that free trade is the basis of the welfare of our peoples, and it enables us to finance schools, hospitals and public services.”
In reference to the growing partnership between the two sides, the minister talked about the deal between the Austrian company OMV and “ADNOC”, describing it as historical as it is one of the largest deals in the history of Austria, as it contributes to establishing a global entity of more than $ 60 billion.
He said: “We are building one of the largest chemical industries in the world,” and he spoke about discussions about the establishment of a joint business council, which includes companies from the two countries, with the aim of pushing the wheel of economic cooperation.
For her part, Austrian CEO, Astraid Starnes Stoodinger, expressed her aspiration to promote Austria as a tourist destination throughout the year, not only during the summer and winter seasons.
She added that Austria provides various tourism experiences, from skiing in winter to summer holidays in nature, and we aim to distribute the movement of tourists throughout the year to avoid seasonal crowds.
