The security services in the state are frustrating an illegal attempt to pass a quantity of military equipment to the Sudanese army

The security services in the country thwarted an attempt to pass weapons and military equipment to the Sudanese armed forces illegally.

The Attorney General, Dr. Hamad Saif Al -Shamsi, that the security services in the state were able to thwart an attempt to pass a quantity of military equipment to the Sudanese armed forces, after the arrest of members of a cell involved in mediation, brokerage and illegal trafficking in military equipment, without obtaining the necessary licenses from the competent authorities.

The defendants were seized, while examining a quantity of ammunition inside a private plane, carrying about 5 million pieces of “54.7 x 62” ammunition, of the type of military hardware, at one of the state airports, in addition to seizing part of the proceeds of the financial deal in the possession of two accused inside their hotel rooms.

The Public Prosecutor explained that the investigations revealed the involvement of the cell members with the leaders of the Sudanese army, as it includes the former director of the Sudanese intelligence service, Salah Gosh and a former officer in the agency, the former advisor to the Finance Minister, a politician close to Abdel Fattah Al -Burhan, Yasser Al -Atta, and a number of Sudanese businessmen, and that they completed a military hardware deal that included weapons of the type (Kalashnikov), ammunition, machine guns, machine guns, And bombs, at a value exceeding millions of dollars, were passed from the Sudanese army to the importing company within the country, using the (Hawala Dar) method through a company owned by one of the fleeing cell members, working for the Sudanese armed forces, in coordination with Colonel Othman Al -Zubayr, the official of the financial operations of the Sudanese Armed Forces, after fake contracts and forged commercial bills that prove – contrary to the truth – that the funds in exchange for an import deal.

Investigations concluded that these deals were made at the request of the Sudanese Armed Forces Armed Forces Committee headed by Abdel -Fattah Al -Burhan, and his deputy, Yasser Al -Atta, with their knowledge and consent, and with a direct commission of the cell members to mediate and complete the deals, by Ahmed Rabie Ahmed Al -Sayed, the politician who is close to the commander -in -chief of the Sudanese army and his deputy, Yasser Al -Atta, responsible for issuing approvals and final user certificates.

Investigations confirmed the involvement of the accused, Salah Gosh, in the Department of Immature Military Military Trafficking Operations, in cooperation with the rest of the cell members, where they obtained 2.6 million dollars, such as the difference in the price of a (profit margin) for the true value of the two dealings, which were divided between them and a number of their aides.
The share of the accused, Salah Gosh, was seized from the profit margin with the accused Khaled Youssef Mukhtar Youssef, the former Sudanese intelligence officer and former director of the Salah Qosh office.

The investigations also showed that the shipment that was seized in the last operation in one of the state airports on a private plane that was coming from a foreign country landed for refueling, and officially announced that it carries a shipment of medical tools, before the military hardware was seized under the supervision of the Public Prosecution, and based on judicial permission issued by the Public Prosecutor exactly and inspection.

The images of the two deal contracts, forged shipping documents, recordings and mutual correspondence were seized between the cell members.

Investigations revealed that there are a number of companies owned by a Sudanese businessman of Ukrainian nationality, including a company operating within the country, which participated in providing the needs of the Sudanese army, such as weapons, ammunition, bombs and drones, in cooperation with the cell members and financial official of the Sudanese Armed Forces, which are included in the US sanctions lists.

The ongoing investigations confirmed that the interests of the involved group and their great financial profits are linked to the continuation of the internal fighting in Sudan.

The Public Prosecutor affirmed that this incident constitutes a serious violation of the security of the state, by making its lands the scene of illegal trafficking activities in the military hardware directed to a country suffering from internal fighting, as well as the committing it for criminal crimes punishable by law.

The Public Prosecutor concluded his statement by noting that the Public Prosecution continues to complete the investigation procedures with the accused in preparation for referring them to an urgent trial, and the final results will be announced as soon as the investigations are completed.
