The Head of State and the Brazilian President discuss enhancing cooperation within the framework of the strategic partnership between the two countries

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and Luis Inacio da Silva, President of the Federal Republic of Brazil, discussed various aspects of cooperation and joint work and ways to enhance them within the framework of the strategic partnership that brings together the two countries and their mutual keenness to push it to broader horizons that serve their development priorities and bring good to their people.
This came during His Highness’s meeting today in Abu Dhabi with the Brazilian President, who is on a working visit to the country, where His Highness welcomed him and thanked him for his keenness to support bilateral relations for the benefit of the two countries and their peoples.
His Highness and President Luiz Inácio Da Silva reviewed the paths of development of Emirati-Brazilian cooperation, especially in the fields of economic, trade, development, advanced technology, space, renewable energy, and sustainability, in addition to food security, education, logistics services, and other aspects of cooperation that are of their common interest and contribute to promoting sustainable development in the two countries.
The meeting also touched on the ongoing negotiations between the UAE and the South American Common Market (MERCUSUR) regarding establishing a comprehensive economic partnership between them, which has reached its final stage, expressing their aspiration that this partnership, after its completion, will contribute to opening new horizons and providing ambitious opportunities for constructive economic cooperation between the UAE and Brazil.
His Highness the President of the State said that the strategic relations between the UAE and Brazil, which extend for more than five decades, are witnessing continuous qualitative development, pointing out that there are many vital cooperation opportunities that are of interest to the two countries and their keenness to invest in them and achieve common goals in them.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues and developments of common concern, and coordination to support peace and stability in the Middle East region and the world, stressing in this context the consensus of the visions of the two countries regarding the importance of advancing efforts aimed at consolidating the causes of international peace and security.
The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chief of the Presidential Office for Special Affairs, and a number of ministers and senior state officials, as well as the delegation accompanying the guest president.
The Brazilian President arrived in the country earlier today, where he was received at the Presidential Airport in Abu Dhabi by His Highness the President, and a number of Their Highnesses Sheikhs, ministers and senior officials.
