"Emirates Media" It organizes a set of events in Abu Dhabi International Book

Abu Dhabi, April 30/ WAM/ The Emirates Media Council organized a set of interactive activities and activities during the first week of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2025, within the framework of the council’s vision to enhance the media scene in the country and develop a sustainable media environment based on creativity and knowledge.
The pavilion in the exhibition witnessed a demand from the media, content makers, specialists and visitors from different members of society, as part of a schedule full of activities and training workshops.
His Excellency Mohammed Saeed Al -Shehhi, Secretary -General of the Emirates Media Council, reviewed the exhibition sections, to see the latest accompanying cultural publications and events, and included a visit to the exhibition wings, and the meeting with a number of local and international publishers.
He emphasized that the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair represents a global platform that brings together senior publishers from various continents, and reflects the UAE’s vision in investing in knowledge and expanding its presence in the global cultural scene where the exhibition’s role is not limited to displaying publications, but rather provides an advanced model for the future publishing industry, by integrating the latest publishing and artificial intelligence technologies, and devoting integration between culture and technology.
He explained that the council is working to enable the publishing industry in the country through flexible legislation and advanced digital services, and soon we will launch a new system that contributes to facilitating procedures, speeding up production and publishing operations, and reducing the time taken in front of publishers, in a way that enhances the competitiveness of the local publishing industry and keeps pace with accelerating transformations, and meets the aspirations of publishers.
His Excellency affirmed that the Emirates Media Council, as the Federal Authority concerned with organizing the media and publishing sector, was keen on the active presence in such cultural forums, believing in the importance of partnership and providing bridges of communication with publishers from different countries of the world, and opening new horizons for cooperation and exchanging experiences.
The Council organized a set of awareness and specialized workshops that targeted various segments of society to enhance media awareness, which included a specialized workshop entitled “Media content standards and age classification”, which focused on the importance of the commitment of media institutions and content makers to classify business according to age groups, which contributes to preserving societal values and enhancing a safe media environment ..
The “Intellectual Property Rights” workshop discussed the axes related to the rights of the author and publishing, while emphasizing the importance of protecting intellectual creativity, and explaining the legal mechanisms available to preserve intellectual property rights, and the workshop witnessed a remarkable presence from various cultural and media sectors.
It reviewed a workshop entitled “The Commissioner Registration Gate”, the electronic platform designated for the registration of content makers in the UAE, which contributes to strengthening the organization of the media sector, preserving the rights of media influencers, and ensuring their compliance with media content standards.
The Council also organized a workshop entitled “Choosing the appropriate content for children from 9 to 12 years old”, and was directed to parents and teachers, as it dealt with the basic criteria for choosing the appropriate content for children’s psychological and cognitive needs.
