Real Madrid and Apple launch the “Santiago Bernabeu” project in virtual reality

Spanish media revealed the details of a new project that Real Madrid is planning in cooperation with Apple, under the name “Infinite Santiago Bernabeu,” which aims to transfer the experience of watching matches to an innovative level using virtual reality technology (VR).
The Spanish newspaper AS reported that the project aims to create a revolution in the way football matches are broadcast, as Apple installed 100 cameras inside the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, and tested the technology during the Real Madrid and Juventus match in the Champions League. The newspaper explained that the cameras were used to collect data and prepare the necessary reports to develop the project, through which the club seeks to enable fans who cannot come to the stadium to watch the matches as if they were inside the stands.
The report confirmed that club president Florentino Pérez is leading this ambitious project, with a clear goal of opening the doors of the Bernabéu to fans around the world, without geographical restrictions, so that fans can fully experience the atmosphere of the matches from their homes.
The report indicated that the initiative will redefine the experience of watching football by integrating advanced technology with sports, giving fans an unprecedented interactive and immersive experience, and placing Real Madrid at the forefront of clubs investing in the digital future of the game.
The report also pointed out that the project is expected to be a new source of revenue, enabling thousands of fans to follow matches in high quality using virtual reality, which represents a qualitative shift not only for the Royal Club, but also for the football industry globally, and is likely to constitute a new model for sports broadcasting in the coming years.
