Trump appoints Mike Walz Ambassador to the United Nations and nominates Marco Rubio as a national security advisor

US President Donald Trump confirmed Thursday the dismissal of his national security adviser, Mike Waltz after a leak in a chat group, but he announced his appointment as an ambassador to the United Nations.

“Mike Walz worked hard to put the interests of our nation in the first place. I am sure that he will do the same in his new position,” Trump said on the channel “Truth Sushl”.

The US President added that he was in the process of nominating Foreign Minister Marco Rubio as the acting of the National Security Adviser.

Trump announced these moves shortly after the news of the departure of Waltz and his deputy Alex Wong, the administration, just weeks after the disclosure of the addition of Waltz a journalist to a chat group on the “Segenal” application was used to discuss military plans on Yemen.

Trump said Rubio will continue to serve the position of Foreign Minister.
