The International Award for Arab Child Literature launches its 17th edition and inaugurates its new website

Sharjah, May 2 / WAM / The International Award for Arab Child Literature presented by EDA and the UAE Council for Advistors’ Books is organized, its seventeenth edition and its new website during its participation in the activities of the sixteenth session of the Sharjah Reading Festival for Children, which is organized by the Sharjah Book Authority at the Sharjah Expo Center and continues until next Sunday evening.
In its new session, the award revealed the changing category for this year, which focuses on “realistic books” or “non -fictional” in a move aimed at encouraging literary production that reflects life experiences and motivates adolescent children on critical thinking and exploration alongside the other four groups: “early childhood”, “photo book”, “book of chapters” and “the book of adolescents”.
Marwa Al -Aqroubi, President of the UAE Council of Recreen books, said: “We are celebrating the launch of the seventeenth edition of the International Prize for Arab Child Literature presented by A & with a new spirit and greater ambition in light of the new name that reflects its global identity and its pioneering role in developing the literature of the Arab child.” Its impact and expansion of the network of participants from different countries who offer publications in Arabic dedicated to children and adolescents.
On the sidelines of the award of the award at the Sharjah Reading Festival for Children, Marwa Al -Aqroubi met .. Mohammed Al -Amimi, General Manager of the Agency – Northern Emirates at “E and Emirates” company, the main sponsor of the award since its inception and discussed ways to enhance the strategic partnership between the two sides and the prospects for developing the award in a way that contributes to expanding its influence and increasing the base of the participants from the authors, publishers and painters worldwide and affirmed their joint commitment to continue supporting efforts to develop a culture Reading between children and adolescents.
The award launched its new website, which expresses its new identity in the framework of the renewal that is commensurate with the international dimension and the wider horizons awaiting it, greater impact and more comprehensive access to various parts of the world.
The award called on the manufactures of children’s books and adolescents in Arabic, including authors, painters and publishers all over the world, to advance their work until a maximum of August 31.
The total value of the award is 1.2 million dirhams, which is divided equally between authors, painters and publishers, with the allocation of 300 thousand dirhams for specialized training programs within a workshop.
