"Sharjah volunteer work" It adopts a new performance program and reviews the digital transformation plan

Sharjah, May 6/ WAM/ The Board of Trustees of the Sharjah Prize for Voluntary Work, during its periodic meeting headed by His Excellency Ahmed Ibrahim Al -Mill, Chairman of the Social Services Department and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Award, approved a new program to measure performance indicators, and also reviewed the award’s digital transformation plan, as part of its ongoing efforts to develop work mechanisms and enhance their societal impact.

The program, which is based on 80 qualitative indicators, aims to raise performance efficiency and achieve higher levels of transparency and professionalism in implementing the award goals.

The Council also reviewed the revenues of the proceeds of endowment allocated to support the award programs, stressing the importance of investing these resources in a sustainable way that guarantees the continuation of societal initiatives and established a culture of volunteering.

The meeting also dealt with the most prominent achievements of the award and its development steps, in addition to the digital transformation plan aimed at facilitating procedures and enhancing the effectiveness of operations, in line with future directions, and contributes to spreading a culture of volunteer work and encouraging innovative community initiatives.

His Excellency Ahmed Ibrahim Al -Mile expressed his thanks and appreciation for the great support that the award received from His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and the relentless follow -up of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of the Executive Council.

He stressed that the adoption of indicators and the digital transformation plan represents a qualitative shift in the award march, pointing to its vital role in enhancing the values ​​of giving and innovation, and the inspiration of individuals and institutions to implement volunteer projects that support sustainable development goals and enhance societal cohesion.

For his part, Dr. Jassim Al Hammadi, Secretary -General of the Award, pointed out that the adoption of an electronic performance program that embodies the award’s commitment to excellence and keeping pace with challenges, which reflects positively on the quality of the outputs, and enhances the spread of a culture of volunteering in various sectors.

In turn, Fatima Moussa Al Balushi, Executive Director of the award, reviewed the results of the award for the year 2024, which showed qualitative developments represented in the implementation of 125,389 voluntary hours with the participation of 3,038 volunteers, and the provision of 45 voluntary opportunities, in addition to providing financial support worth 47,033 dirhams.

Al -Balushi added that the award, since its inception 22 years ago, honored 1,259 winners of individuals and institutions in 21 courses, noting the expansion of the award categories to include 14 diverse categories targeting various segments of society, which enhances its comprehensiveness and impact.

It also affirmed the prize’s keenness on community awareness by organizing 76 educational lectures, in addition to issuing specialized magazines and publications such as “Sharjah volunteer”, “volunteers”, “small volunteer”, and other publications aimed at promoting the culture of volunteer work in society.
