Sharjah Chamber discusses with Estonia Ambassador to enhance cooperation in the technology and agriculture sectors
Sharjah, May 6 / WAM / The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry discussed ways to enhance cooperation with Estonia in the technology and agriculture sectors.
This came during the meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the Chamber between His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Board of Directors and His Excellency Maria Bloufas, Astonia’s Ambassador to the State and the accompanying delegation in the presence of Abdulaziz Al -Shamsi, Assistant Director General of the Communication and Business Sector and Raghda Tarim, a member of the Sharjah Chamber’s Board of Directors, along with a number of officials from both sides.
His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stressed the importance of strengthening economic cooperation relations and expanding the horizons of strategic partnerships between the business community in the Emirate of Sharjah and the Republic of Estonia, pointing out that there are promising opportunities to develop trade and investment exchange between them in many vital sectors, especially in the areas of advanced technology and sustainable agriculture that are interesting and support in development plans for both sides.
His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al -Owais welcomed the start of the meeting with His Excellency the Estonian Ambassador on her first official visit to the Chamber’s headquarters since she took the duties of her position, expressing his great appreciation for the interest she expressed in exploring the areas of cooperation available with the business community in the Emirate of Sharjah.
His Excellency highlighted the fruitful cooperation record that connects Sharjah and Estonia, pointing to the promising opportunities for bilateral cooperation in the agricultural and technology sectors as fields to build strong and sustainable partnerships in light of the interest of the investment environment in Sharjah and Estonia with digital transformation and advanced technology applications and ensuring the contribution of enhancing food security and adopting smart and sustainable agriculture solutions.
His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al Owais praised the role of the Emirati Business Council in promoting bilateral economic ties and providing a vital platform for communication between the business community and the development of commercial and investment cooperation, adding an official invitation to His Excellency the Estonian Ambassador to attend the opening ceremony of the next session of the Middle East Watch and Jewelery Exhibition, the pioneering event organized and hosted by the Sharjah Expo Center scheduled for May 28, stressing that the exhibition represents an ideal opportunity for Estonian companies To explore the regional market and contract partnerships.
For its part, His Excellency Ambassador Maria Bluofas, in turn, sent an invitation to the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry to organize an official commercial mission to the Republic of Estonia with the aim of providing the opportunity for representatives of the business community in the emirate to see the investment scene and the business environment in Estonia and explore the opportunities available in the areas of digital technology, cyber security, emerging companies and other sectors.
The ambassador expressed its support to deepen the bonds of cooperation with the private sector in the Emirate of Sharjah, welcoming all initiatives aimed at strengthening partnerships between the Estonian business community and its counterpart in Sharjah within the framework of joint interest in the attractive investment environment and various opportunities that are available to both sides in various economic sectors.
The meeting concluded with a mutual certainty to adhere to enhancing bilateral economic relations between Sharjah and Estonia, developing mechanisms of direct cooperation between private sector institutions on both sides and exploring all possible ways to translate the available opportunities into successful partnerships and projects that contribute to achieving joint prosperity.
