Canada will never be “for sale

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney rejected jokingly, but unambiguously, any regional ambitions by US President Donald Trump during a visit to the White House on Tuesday.

“As you know, from real estate, there are some places that are never offered for sale,” Carney told Trump in the Oval Office.

“We are sitting in one of these places now. You know the Buckingham Palace that I have also visited.” “This is true.”

Carney then explained that the same applies to Canada: “It is not for sale, and it will never be for sale.”

“But the opportunity exists in partnership and what we can build together,” the Prime Minister added.

Trump responded with a smile, “Never say”, and then Carney smiled at journalists in the room.

Carney won the position of Prime Minister by pledged to confront the growing aggression by Trump.

It is noteworthy that Trump has repeatedly threatened to annex Canada as a US state number 51. He also imposed high customs duties on the neighboring country, which relies largely economically on its trade relationship with the United States. Trump’s comments on the annexation sparked widespread anger. However, Trump made it clear that the use of military force “for annexation is not an option for him.
