Mohammed bin Rashid confirms the UAE’s keenness to support the joint Gulf action system

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, met in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Jassim Mohammed Al Budawi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, as part of the first day of the World Government Summit 2026, which began today, Tuesday, in Dubai and continues for three days under the slogan “Foreseeing the Governments of the Future.”

During the meeting, paths of joint Gulf action were discussed, and ways to enhance integration and coordination in the economic, development and governmental fields in accordance with the visions and directives of the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, in a way that supports the region’s readiness for future changes and consolidates its ability to transform challenges into sustainable development opportunities.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum stressed the UAE’s keenness to support the joint Gulf action system, strengthen institutional partnerships between the GCC countries, and exchange successful government experiences, in a way that contributes to developing government performance and raising the efficiency of services provided, to achieve greater progress and prosperity for Gulf societies.

For his part, Jassim Mohammed Al Budaiwi expressed his sincere appreciation for the pivotal and influential role played by the United Arab Emirates in strengthening the Gulf cooperation system, based on the vision of its wise leadership that places integration between the countries of the region at the top of its priorities.

He praised the UAE’s efforts in organizing the World Government Summit, stressing its role as a leading international platform to enhance international cooperation and make a positive impact on the reality of societies and the future of government work.

The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the National Olympic Committee, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Excellency Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Chairman of the World Government Summit, and His Excellency Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation Affairs.

More than 60 heads of state and government and their deputies, more than 500 ministers, and more than 150 governments will participate in the World Government Summit 2026. It will also bring together more than 80 international and regional organizations and global institutions, and more than 700 CEOs of major international institutions and companies, with an attendance of more than 6,250 participants.
