50% increase in the prices of airline tickets to Lebanon

Air tickets for flights from the UAE to Lebanon recorded a significant increase in proportions that ranged between 40 to 50% for the last reservations that take place hours before the flight, after the cancellation of the decision to prevent citizens traveling to Lebanon, according to travel agencies.

Manters in travel agencies confirmed to “Emirates Today” that the decision to raise travel restrictions was reflected directly on the movement of reservations, as companies began receiving intensive inquiries and requests, which led to a great leap in ticket prices as a result of the increase in demand and the high rate of occupancy of the trips prescribed during the coming days.

The Director General of Al -Awadi Travel Company, Amin Al -Awadi, said: The prices of airline tickets for reservations that take place before traveling hours of increases amounting to about 40%, pointing to the prices of tickets that increased significantly during the early hours after the decision was issued, especially on direct flights from the UAE.

Al -Awadi stated that the increase in prices reflects the large demand for Lebanon, which may push ticket prices to higher levels, pointing out that the airlines may resort to increasing their seat capacity to absorb the great demand expected during the coming period.

In addition, the CEO of the Dubai Link Group, Dr. Haitham Al -Hajj Ali, said, “We recorded a significant increase in ticket prices to Lebanon, in some cases exceeded 50% compared to the recent reservations,” noting that the increases relate to the trips that leave today or tomorrow.

He pointed out that a percentage of travelers has quickly seized their tickets, which created pressure on prices, “adding:” We expect prices to continue at their high levels during the coming days, and may rise more with the approaching holiday season. “
