“American Dubai” crowns a new regiment of creative students in the media

The American University in Dubai, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, culminated in a new regiment of the winners of the “Creative in the Media” competition, which is the largest of its kind in the Middle East region, in terms of financial value and academic impact, as the value of the first prize is 400 thousand dirhams, covering the tuition fees for four full years at Mohammed bin Rashid Media College.
The student Batoul Abdulaziz Al -Sheikh from Al -Shahama School – Abu Dhabi won the first place, to win the major scholarship after her creative distinction and academic excellence in the competition, which targets high school students from citizens and residents in public and private schools at the state level, for the ninth year, respectively.
The current session of the competition witnessed the participation of about 150 male and female students from various emirates of the country, of whom 13 contestants qualified for the final stage.
The ceremony was held on the campus in the presence of a number of dignitaries and officials in the education sector, among them Dr. Amal Al -Qahtani, represented by the Ministry of Education, along with Dr. Kyle Long, President of the University, Sufi Boutros, CEO of the Mohammed bin Rashid College of Media, Elie Sawaya, Director of the Department at the University, and Nader Maktisi, a media affairs advisor at the university, members of the jury, in addition to the students who are qualified and parents Their affairs and teachers.
In his speech, Dr. Kyle Long praised the high level presented by the participants, stressing the importance of continuing to support this competition by the Ministry of Education and the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, and expressed his thanks to the sponsors of the award.
For his part, Ali Obaid Al -Hamli, the representative of the jury, pointed out that the competition this year witnessed an intense competition, explaining that the percentage of female students from female students reached 90%, which reflects the passion of girls to study the media and highlight their talents in it.
The student Sarah Bashir, from Mohammed bin Rashid Media College, also participated in the ceremony with a speech in the English language, during which she reviewed her personal experience, as she won four years ago with a similar grant, and today she is preparing to graduate and start in her career, stressing that the competition was the turning point in her educational career.
“Emirates Today” met with a number of winners, as Batoul Abdulaziz Al -Sheikh – the first -place (Grand Scholarship), expressed her happiness, saying: “I did not imagine that my passion for the media turned into a four -year scholarship in one of the most ancient colleges in the region, and this victory is a responsibility before it was an achievement, and I thank the American University in Dubai for this opportunity that changed the course of my life.”
As for Sarah Abbas Siraj – the second place (Arabic language), the competition gave me a space to express my thoughts and highlight my ability to write and prepare media, and the experience was rich at the academic and personal levels. I aspire to study the media and make a positive influence in society through the word. ”
As for Mahra Al -Yamahi, who won the third place (the Arabic language), she said: “The competition opened the doors of creativity for me, and gave me great confidence in myself. Writing was my way to express issues I believe in, and today I feel that my dream of media work has started to be fulfilled.”
