The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has adopted a new package of regulatory requirements for sales outlets allocated to non -food materials, in a move aimed at promoting compliance, improving the quality of the work environment, and ensuring safety in various commercial services.
The new requirements include strict controls in operation, equipment and architectural standards, in addition to workers and stalls requirements.

Compliance with the urban environment

The requirements stipulate that the facility is prohibited for any unlicensed activity, or storing materials that are not directly related to commercial activity, in addition to the requirement to obtain a municipal and operating license from the competent authorities before the start of the activity.
It is also forbidden to practice any additional activity that is not included in the license, or the use of sidewalks and public positions without permission, which enhances the system and compliance with the urban environment.
Among the most prominent of what was stated in the operational requirements is to prohibit the coverage of the facades completely, or to accumulate the goods randomly inside the store, as it is forbidden to use mechanical, electrical or corridors for display or storage, stressing the importance of a clear price on the products, and not selling products that violate the systems.

Controls that take into account privacy and prevent randomness

The Ministry has set strict requirements in store equipment, including providing safe and fire -resistant display units, and lifting them from the ground with a minimum of 15 cm, leaving a distance of not less than 60 cm from the ceiling.
It also obligated that the corridors between the display units should not be less than 120 cm, to ensure the flow of movement within the store, and to provide custom areas in the event of providing maintenance or installation services.
For cosmetics, it is allowed to have experiences for customers for customers, provided that there are mounds, closed rooms, or tables and chairs dedicated to that, as parts of privacy and prevention of randomness.

Personal hygiene for workers

On the side of the workers, the Ministry stressed the commitment to the decisions of the Ministry of Human Resources related to the work environment, including the need to obtain health certificates for workers in activities related to public health, and prohibit the use of shops for housing, in addition to preventing smoking except in the designated places, and the personal hygiene of workers as part of quality standards was emphasized.
The requirements included a clear classification of the permitted activities, which include wholesale and retail for non -food materials, whether in existing stores, or within complexes and popular markets, or in independent stalls within commercial or mixed lands.
The Ministry obliged that the area of ​​the shop be not less than 24 square meters, while the area of ​​stalls inside the complexes and popular markets is at least 2 square meters, and it rises to 10 square meters in commercial lands. It is allowed to join a special toilet or a car service path in cases required by the nature of the site.

These requirements are applied within or outside the urban range, according to the construction system approved in each region, taking into account the repercussions, the requirements of positions and the percentage of construction.
The parking -based parking lots are prohibited, or parking for any operations such as storage or sale is prohibited.
The Ministry stressed that the store interface must be free of informal stickers, and only allows entry and exit stickers, electronic payment methods, and the instructions of official authorities, and warnings are strictly prohibited to prevent standing or occupying public positions.
