Al -Zyoudi: More than $ 4 billion in UAE investments in Belarus

Minsk, May 8 / WAM / His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al -Zyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, stressed that economic relations between the UAE and the Republic of Belarus are witnessing rapid growth and qualitative shift in various sectors, which reflects the depth of the strategic partnership between the two countries and the keenness of both sides to enhance economic cooperation.
He explained in statements to the Emirates News Agency “WAM”, on the sidelines of the opening of the international center in the capital, Minsk, that the volume of Emirati investments in Belarus exceeded the barrier of 4 billion dollars, stressing that the UAE is one of the three adults invested in Belarus.
He pointed out that Emirati investments cover vital sectors that include defense, technology, hospitality, and urban development, pointing out that there is an increasing interest from Emirati companies in investing in the fields of food and industry, in which Belarus has great competitive experiences and capabilities.
Continuing the strategic relations between the two countries, His Excellency stressed that during the past months the negotiations of the Free Trade Agreement concerned in goods with the Eurasian Economic Group, which is expected to be signed on the sidelines of the upcoming Eurasia summit in Minsk, and pointed to the completion of the complementary bilateral agreement concerned with services and investments, explaining their work to complete the legal reviews in preparation To sign it.
He stressed the importance of building on this positive momentum by enhancing institutional and sectoral cooperation, and organizing tours for businessmen and business councils, in addition to holding the next session of the joint economic committee during the current year, which contributes to opening new horizons for partnership and economic integration between the two sides
He added that there is a focus on exploring new opportunities in the food and industry sectors, due to the advanced production structure and qualified human competencies, which enhances the prospects for integration between the two countries in the fields of the new economy.
On the International Exhibition Center, which was opened today in Minsk with Emirati investments, Al -Zyoudi indicated that the opening of the center comes within the first phase of the northern waterfront project, and constitutes a start for an ambitious plan to build a smart economic city in Belarus, aimed at attracting investments in the fields of tourism, economics, and modern technologies, stressing that the project reflects the growth of the Emirati presence in international markets.
