"World Trade" Commercial talks between the United States and China tomorrow "A positive step"

Geneva, May 9 / WAM / The World Trade Organization welcomed the important commercial talks scheduled for Saturday in Geneva between the United States of America and the People’s Republic of China, describing it as a positive and constructive step towards reducing escalation.

Naguzi Okono Ayula, Director General of the organization, confirmed in a statement distributed to reporters today in Geneva, that the sustainable dialogue between the two largest economies in the world is crucial to alleviating trade tensions and protecting global growth.

According to the World Trade Organization estimates, the continued division of the global economy into competing blocs may lead to a long -term decrease in the global gross domestic product by approximately 7%, with special consequences in particular on developing and less developed countries.
