Liwa Ajman Dates and Honey Festival kicks off tomorrow with prizes of one million dirhams
Ajman, 29 July / WAM / Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, the activities of the eleventh edition of the Liwa Ajman Dates and Honey Festival, organized by the Department of Tourism, Culture and Media in Ajman, will begin tomorrow (Thursday) until next August 3 at the Emirates Hospitality Hall.
The 2026 edition witnesses wide participation from farmers, beekeepers, government and private agencies, and includes a variety of competitions, heritage and entertainment events directed to various members of society.
Year after year, the festival continues to consolidate its position among the most prominent heritage and agricultural events in the Emirate of Ajman, providing a platform to celebrate the authentic Emirati heritage and highlight the quality of local products, especially dates, honey and fruits.
The festival contributes to supporting farm and apiary owners and local producers, motivating them to develop the quality of their products and enhancing their competitiveness, in addition to introducing the public to sustainable agricultural practices and the importance of preserving agricultural wealth and the heritage associated with it.
Over five days, the festival provides an integrated community experience, combining knowledge, entertainment and shopping through dates, honey and fruit competitions that showcase the finest local products, in addition to platforms for selling and displaying agricultural, food and heritage products.
The program also includes a group of interactive workshops, educational activities, heritage performances, and public competitions that suit different age groups.
The department allocated prizes worth one million dirhams for date, honey and citrus competitions and audience prizes, in a move aimed at motivating farmers, beekeepers and exhibitors to provide the best products, and encouraging the public to interact and participate in the various activities of the festival.
The festival provides visitors with the opportunity to learn closely about the experiences of farmers and beekeepers, the methods of producing dates and honey, and learn about modern practices that contribute to improving the quality and sustainability of agricultural production. It provides a space for communication between producers, consumers and stakeholders in the agricultural sector, which supports the exchange of experiences and opens new horizons for national products.
His Excellency Mahmoud Khalil Al Hashemi, Director General of the Department of Tourism, Culture and Information in Ajman, confirmed that the eleventh edition of the Liwa Ajman Dates and Honey Festival represents a new station in the success process that the festival has established through its previous sessions, and reflects the department’s commitment to developing activities that combine the preservation of heritage, the stimulation of tourism, and the support of the local agricultural and production sectors.
His Excellency said that the festival provides a national platform to celebrate the UAE’s agricultural heritage and introduce new generations to the value that the palm tree and its products hold, rooted in our identity and history, explaining that the department, through the edition, continues to support farmers, beekeepers and local producers, and motivate them to improve the quality of their products and enhance their competitiveness, in line with the country’s trends in the areas of sustainability, food security and supporting the local economy.
He added: “In the eleventh edition of the festival, we seek to provide an integrated experience that combines the celebration of Emirati heritage, public interaction, and specialized knowledge through specific competitions, workshops, and various activities.”
He pointed out that the wide presence of sponsors and supporters and the spirit of partnership and integration constitute an essential foundation for the success of the festival, and enhance its role in supporting national identity and consolidating Ajman’s position on the map of quality events.
The eleventh edition of the festival is supported by a group of national institutions, governmental and private entities, and attended through introductory and interactive pavilions.
The festival is expected to attract a wide audience from inside and outside the Emirate of Ajman, due to the diverse content it offers that combines authenticity, knowledge and entertainment, and provides families and those interested in heritage and agriculture the opportunity to enjoy a rich experience that reflects aspects of the Emirati identity and its established agricultural traditions.
