Mansour bin Mohammed heads the UAE delegation at the 37th meeting of the heads of the Gulf Olympic Committees in Kuwait

Kuwait, May 11 / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the National Olympic Committee, headed the UAE delegation participating in the work of the 37th meeting of the heads of the Olympic Committees in the Gulf Cooperation Council states, which was hosted by the State of Kuwait today, “Sunday”.
The state delegation included in the meetings, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Balah Al -Falasi, Minister of Sports, Vice -Chairman of the National Olympic Committee, Head of the Executive Office, His Excellency Dr. Matar Hamed Al -Neyadi, State Ambassador to Kuwait, His Excellency Fares Mohamed Mohamed Al -Mutawa, Secretary -General of the National Olympic Committee, and His Excellency Noura Hassan Al Jasmi, member of the Board of Directors of the Committee.
The meeting witnessed the approval of the UAE’s request to host the first version of the Law and Sports Administration Conference in 2026, according to the axes that the National Olympic Committee worked to define early, which includes the Olympic Charter between the present and the future (legislative amendments and its impact on sports governance, sports administration) in the digital age (legal challenges and smart governance prospects), the future of sports legislation (between protecting integrity and promoting organizational independence), conflicts In Olympic Sports (sports arbitration and modern legislation, financing and transparency in the Olympic Sports (legal frameworks governance sports investments), and legal challenges under the Olympic Charter.
It was also approved to support the participation of member states in the conference effectively by presenting research papers and a case studies that highlight the successful legal and administrative experiences in the GCC states, and to discuss ways to finance the conference through partnerships with the private sector and government institutions to ensure the organization of a global event with a high level of professionalism, and to benefit from modern technology in organizing the conference, including interactive applications direct broadcasting and digital platforms, to expand the scope of participation and benefit.
The meeting also witnessed the approval of the coordination of the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf with the UAE “The Presidency State” for the next session, represented by the National Olympic Committee to determine the location and time of the thirty -eighth meeting of the heads of the Olympic Committees in the GCC countries, provided by the meeting of its preparatory executive office.
During the 37th meeting of the Council of Heads of the Olympic Committees, the executive office and the competent committees were assigned to study the final report of the third beach games course in the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf hosted by the Sultanate of Oman, and the technical and organizational aspects contained, challenges and recommendations and taking the necessary measures in this regard.
The meeting also witnessed the approval of the State of Qatar hosting the Fourth Gulf Sports Games for the year 2026, and emphasizing the importance of providing all forms of technical and logistical support by the Gulf Olympic Committees of the host country, and enhancing women’s participation in a way that establishes the principles of totalitarianism and equality in Gulf sports competitions.
The request of the Kuwaiti Olympic Committee to host the second Gulf Games for Youth in 2028 was approved, and the keenness to adhere to the technical regulations regarding Sunni ages to ensure opportunities for balance and parity between the participating countries, and work to establish educational and cultural programs on the sidelines of the course as much as possible to enhance mathematical values and the Olympic formation among young participants, and support the participation of the female component in a way that keeps pace with the directions of the Cooperation Council in enabling the Gulf girl Sports, where the Planning, Coordination and Follow -up Committee continues to prepare the timetable for the Gulf sports courses for the years (2029 – 2032), provided that the dates for holding these courses correspond to the international and regional agenda of sports benefits.
The attendees discussed ways to make the maximum benefit from the unified electronic platform project for Gulf women’s sport, to ensure continued success, as the Olympic committees in the council countries were approved all the support required for the unified platform project for Gulf women’s sport, to ensure the success of this project and the full benefit from the goals set for it, and to provide the executive committee of the platform by member states with all the data required for the digital identity of the unified electronic platform, Member States are also providing the Executive Committee with the required data for sports facilities and tourist attractions in the countries of the Council; To include it in the unified electronic platform as a basic tributary to promote tourism sport in the countries of the Cooperation Council.
The meeting also adopted the organization of the Gulf women’s sport as an annual or periodic event under the supervision of the Consultative Committee for Women’s Sports, to enhance innovation in women’s sport, encourage member states to participate in teams of various specialties, provide the necessary support for participants in terms of training and participation, organizing training workshops and consulting sessions during the Hakthon to direct the participants and exchange experiences between specialists, and provide prizes for winning projects, with support for implementation Innovative solutions at the level of the GCC states, documenting the results of the hackon and spreading innovative ideas on digital platforms to enhance the spread and benefit from them in the future.
