The UAE has maintained its top in the region within the very high human development countries, in the report of the Human Development Index 2025, issued by the United Nations Development Program, advanced in the global ranking with eleven ranks compared to its classification in the report 2021/2022.

The UAE ranked 15th in the world out of 193 countries included in the report, ahead of countries such as Canada, the United States of America, Japan, Australia and Korea, in addition to that it is the only Arab country among the list of the best 20 countries, in an achievement that confirms its commitment to a comprehensive development vision that places man in the heart of its national policies, through an integrated system that serves vital sectors such as health, education and the standard of living, which makes its experience a model A pioneer is globally to be followed in sustainability, promoting human capabilities, and building a future based on opportunities and empowerment.

According to the report, which was carried this year, the title “The Question of Decision: The Human and the Chances of the Agency of Artificial Intelligence”, the UAE’s balance reached 0.94 degrees, and according to the four main indicators of the report, the state balance in the average age index expected at birth reached 82.9 years, which is in the third goal of the sustainable development goals (good health and well -being), and the state’s result in the index of the expected number for years of study reached 15.6 years, while the average years of study reached 13 Year, the two indicators are reflected in the fourth goal (good education), while the value of the individual’s share of the total national income reached $ 71,142, related to the eighth goal (decent work and economics growth).


Human health is at the heart of the UAE development priorities

Abdul Rahman bin Muhammad Al Owais, Minister of Health and Community Protection, stressed that human health is at the heart of the UAE development priorities.

Hanan Mansour Al Ahly, director of the Federal Center for Competitiveness and Statistics, said that the UAE has established a unique development model, which places the human axis for all plans and policies, and depends on health care and education, and innovation, pillars of a prosperous and comprehensive future.

She pointed out that the progress in the report of the Human Development Index confirms that the state’s development policies are a forerunner and conscious of the requirements of the future, and that the UAE was not satisfied with achieving economic growth, but rather made the quality of human life a top priority, which enhances its position as a leading country in formulating a sustainable development future worldwide.


Artificial intelligence talents
The Human Development Report highlighted the tools of artificial intelligence and its growing impact on the paths of human development, in light of the slowdown of development progress and the breadth of gaps between countries with high and low development, stressing the importance of applying flexible humanitarian policies that put health, education and the standard of living in the heart of their strategies, given that human capital is the key to success in the era of digital transformation.

The report showed that the UAE recorded the third highest global average in the net immigration flows through the LinkedIn platform with skills in artificial intelligence for the year 2023, which reflects its ability to attract global competencies and confirm its position as a pioneering center for talent in this vital field.

He explained that countries with high income, such as the UAE, are achieving net gains in specialized competencies, in exchange for losses facing countries with low to average, which indicates the dominance of advanced economies in attracting and attracting experiences. Calling for the construction of a participatory economy in which man and artificial intelligence work alongside, with a focus on enabling individuals with knowledge and technology to enhance their capabilities and skills, in a manner that ensures comprehensive, sustainable and prosperous future for all.

It is worth noting that the Human Development Report is issued by the United Nations program annually, since 1990, a complex index, which expresses the level of quality of the life of societies in the world through three dimensions: health, knowledge, and the standard of living, and these dimensions cover four indicators: the average age expected at birth, the expected number of study years, the average years of study, and the individual’s share of the total national income.
