The Moroccan Poets Festival concludes the activities of its sixth edition

Tetouan – Morocco on May 12/ WAM/ The Moroccan Poets Festival concluded, yesterday evening, its sixth edition after three days, which was adorned with the letter and celebrated the word among the activities organized by the Department of Culture in Sharjah in cooperation with the Moroccan Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communications.
The closing ceremony, which was held at the Sanayeh and National Arts School in Tetouan, was attended by His Excellency Abdullah bin Muhammad Al Owais, Head of the Department of Culture in Sharjah, Muhammad Ibrahim Al -Qusayr, Director of the Department of Cultural Affairs in the department, Rashid Al -Mustafa, Head of the Cooperation Department in the Culture Sector in the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communications, Dr. Youssef Al -Fihry, President of the Higher School of Professors in Martil, and Savior Al -Saghir, Director of the House of Poetry in Tetouan, and a large number of writers, intellectuals and university students.
Mukhlis Al -Saghir said that the Moroccan Poets Festival seeks to renew with every new version and to grow up poetry in the Arab world, noting that the current version was in a prominent official presence in addition to the mass attendance of the taste of poetry and art, pointing out that the poetry house in Tetouan, which was established in 2016 confirms its tireless endeavor to organize a seventh special session next year to celebrate the ten years since its founding.
For their part, the participants in the Moroccan Poets Festival unanimously agreed that Sharjah has become a pioneering model in supporting Arab culture, and contributes effectively to the formation of a new generation of Arab intellectuals, stressing that the cultural, epistemological and intellectual achievements achieved by Sharjah during the past decades were not a coincidence, but as a result of a wide cultural vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, member of the Supreme Council and Ruler The foundation stone for building human and society.
The participants saw that the Sharjah experience represents a role model as it was not satisfied with supporting cultural production, but also keen to create an integrated knowledge environment that attracts new generations, and instills in them the love of reading, thinking and criticism, pointing out that it has become many Arab youth who have drawn from Sharjah cultural experiences today from the prominent voices in the fields of literature, thought and arts.
The second day of the festival witnessed a critical symposium entitled “Poetry and Performance Arts” was held at the High School of Professors, and the speakers focused that when poetry is thrown on the stage or is combined with movement or music it turns into performance art, and here what is known as “poetry of performance” is created where poetry comes out of the page to embody through the body, voice, look and silence, noting that at this moment the literature overlap To give the recipient a multi -sensitive artistic experience.
The speakers pointed out that the poetic arts poetry produces when the word meets the movement, as the poem turns into a beating body and the scene into a visual poem read with the eye as it feels in the heart, the symposium was followed by a poetry session with the participation of a number of the most prominent Moroccan poets.
The activities of the festival gathered the audience with the blind poets at the Taha Hussein Institute in Tetouan in a sophisticated poetic and human moment, during which he met poetry with the group of blind creators who were inspired by the words of life and their details weaved their great worlds.
More than 40 creators of poets, poets, intellectuals and artists participated in the festival in a festive atmosphere of poetry and its creators, as well as the participation of 83 students in the poetry writing workshop organized by Dar Al -Poet in Tetouan in cooperation with the College of Arabic Language at the Higher School of Professors in the city of Martil, and 18 male and female students were crowning in the regional competition of the Arabic language pioneers organized by the Poetry House with more than 37 educational institutions for secondary education And preparatory.
