America is looking to accept a gift plane from Qatar

White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitte said on Monday that the administration of President Donald Trump will act in accordance with the law on Qatar’s offer to dedicate a plane to the Ministry of Defense and is not concerned about what Qatar might require in return.
“The Qatari government offered thankfully gifting a plane to the Ministry of Defense, and the legal details are still under study,” Levitte added in an interview with Fox News.
A source familiar with a Reuters said on Sunday that the Trump administration intends to accept a Boeing 747-8 gift from the Qatari royal family, which will be equipped to serve as a presidential plane (Air Force One).
“Any dedication to this government is always taking place according to the law, we adhere to the utmost transparency, and we will continue to do so,” Levit said.
In response to a question about whether the White House is concerned that Qatar is asking for something in return, she replied, “Certainly not. Because they know President Trump, and they know that he does not consider it except the interests of the American people.”
The source added that the luxury plane, which will be one of the most expensive gifts that the US government ever received, will eventually present to Trump’s presidential library after Trump left his position. The new Boeing 747-8 commercial aircraft cost about $ 400 million.
Trump is scheduled to visit Qatar during his trip to the Middle East this week.
