Abu Dhabi Police arrests 45 people for circulating misleading information, photographing and publishing sites of events

The Abu Dhabi Police Criminal Investigations Directorate arrested 45 people of different nationalities for photographing various locations during current events and publishing them on social media platforms, in addition to circulating inaccurate and misleading information, which would stir up public opinion and spread rumors among members of society.
Abu Dhabi Police took the necessary legal and administrative measures against them, as part of the ongoing efforts made by the security authorities to monitor and follow up on violations related to the misuse of social media, stressing that such behavior is a violation of applicable laws and legislation, and stressing the importance of ensuring accuracy, and not publishing or recirculating, any content that is not reliable, or is not issued by official authorities, as this has a negative impact on societal security and the conduct of security procedures.
Abu Dhabi Police called on the public to obtain information from approved official sources only, and to commit not to filming or publishing the locations of events or clips related to them, in order to preserve the integrity of the procedures followed and protect the public interest.
