The brother of the victims of the shooting incident to «Emirates Today»: We believe in the justice of the judiciary in the country

A verbal argument in Ras Al -Khaimah resulted in a disagreement on a complex situation in one of the narrow corridors from a tragic accident, after a person opened fire on a mother and her four daughters, which led to her death and two of her daughters, and the injury of a third daughter.

In a special statement to «Emirates Today», the son of the woman and the brother of the victims, Maher Salem Wafayi, said that the incident occurred when his mother was accompanied by his four sisters in a vehicle, so a dispute occurred with a person about the vehicle’s position, and he ended up shooting them.

He added: “We have lived in the Emirates for 20 years, and we have only found security and safety, and it has never happened that we heard of any incidents of this kind in any part of the state, which the far and near testimony testifies to preserving the rights of people,” pointing out that what happened to his family is God’s destiny and destiny.

The began son continued: “We are fully confident in the integrity of the Emirati judiciary, and his justice, and that he will take his course, and ensure that the perpetrator holds accountable according to the law.”

He said that what his mother and sisters were exposed to is an individual behavior, which does not represent society, expressing his firm confidence that the UAE will always remain an oasis of security and peace. He stressed that what reduces the pain of loss, is his full confidence in the justice system in the state, which is known for its firmness, transparency and independence, and its keenness to preserve rights and safeguard human dignity.

He referred to his sister Yasmine after the Maghrib prayer today, after four days of the burial of his mother and his second sister, stressing that the family is experiencing a great shock of what happened, but she is adhering to her faith and justice.

For its part, Ras Al Khaimah Police revealed the arrest of the person involved in the shooting incident. She stated in a statement that she had received a report about the accident in one of the Ras Al Khaimah area, so the specialized teams went to the site directly, and the victims were transferred to the hospital, where the mother and her two daughters left life later.

Ras Al Khaimah Police confirmed the arrest of the perpetrator and the seizure of the weapon used in the incident, while the concerned authorities began completing the legal procedures, and the file was referred to the Public Prosecution.

The police called on members of society to have self -control and avoid drifting behind daily differences, stressing that the law will firmly be applied to everyone who threatens the security and safety of society.
